I purchased the DVD of this film a few months ago and was pretty disappointed. Whilst a look on Mary’s life is highly refreshing (compared to the many productions on her father and half-sister!), the acting was often very over the top and some scenes were more comical than tragical. Anne Boleyn’s execution scene and Henry VIII's death scene were very odd!

Overall I wouldn’t recommend purchasing it without finding a way to see it first. Especially considering the price of the DVD.
